George Pennacchio
George Pennacchio is the longtime entertainment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles. He's been a staple here since 1996. He is also host of regular "On The Red Carpet" specials seen in various cities around the country.

During his broadcasting career, George has won five Emmy Awards for his work. He has also been honored with The Press Award by The Publicists Guild of America for his coverage of the entertainment industry. He's one of only a handful of journalists who have received The Critics' Critic Award from The Broadcast Film Critics Association, North America's largest critics group. He's also been awarded The Luminary Award, a lifetime achievement honor from the Los Angeles Press Club. Since that honor, he has gone on to be a board member for many years.

George has covered the entertainment world all over the world, from L.A. to London, Scotland to South Africa, Nashville, New York, Tokyo, wherever a story might take him.

In 2025, George was asked to be a voice in what turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of the year, "Zootopia 2." The filmmakers asked if he would voice the role of a news anchor named, appropriately, "George Purnnnacleo." He said yes. So now he jokes that he's one of the cast members of an "Oscar nominated movie." Of course, that said, he has no plans to quit his day job.
