Evacuation order issued for Stevenson Ranch brush fire

STEVENSON RANCH, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire in Stevenson Ranch is threatening homes and prompted an evacuation order late Monday afternoon.

The blaze, dubbed the Max Fire, was reported at about 4:20 p.m. in the area of Magnolia Lane and Autumn Place, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The LAFD is also assisting in battling the blaze.

Amid hot temperatures, the blaze quickly grew from a quarter acre in size to more than 30 acres. As of 6:20 p.m., the L.A. County Fire Department estimates the blaze at 45 acres.

Firefighters are battling the blaze from the air and ground.

An evacuation order has been issued for the STV-PICO zone.

Cal Fire says evacuation warnings have been issued for the following zones:

- SCL-DELPRADO
- SCL-MEADOWS
- STV-CONSTITUTION
- STV-E109
- STV-POE
